It is expected that the company will begin to make staff redundant from the middle of June 2028, with the last workers leaving in December. "Declining demand has resulted in underutilization of our production capacities," a spokesperson for the business said. In 2020, Viatris announced the closure of a plant in Baldoyle with the loss of 440 jobs. €77,305 per year. That is how much your vote is worth today. The Irish government will spend on average 144.34 billion euro per year over the next 5 years. We have 3,438,566 registered voters, and an average voter turn out of 54.30%. The candidate you elect today to represent you will have a direct influence on what that money is spent on. So each vote has the ability to influence on average €77k. The Irish political system is one of the most democratic in the world. It is far more resistant to strategic voting, gerrymandering, or the spoiler effect than the system used in the likes of the UK or US or Canada. It give us proportionally more voice than voters in other nations. We also have a broadly even distribution of TDs to population in each constituency. Third parties and independents have as much viability as any major party. In June, Kildare was the last local constituency to finish their count. Just 2 votes separated the candidates at one point. I’ve been floating about on here for 10+ years. And I’ve never properly introduced myself… I’m Barry Cryan a 38 year old High-Performance Productivity Coach, born in the sunny North West of Ireland! This is my story so far... 2009: Graduated ATU Sligo with a Degree in Occupational Safety & Health and a Degree in Environmental Science. 2010: Started my 1st professional job, working within EHS for Amcor. 2014: Woke up one day with flu-like symptoms. They evolved into different and worsening health issues. These included rock bottom energy and almost complete loss of short-term memory. 2015: Job performance continues to decline as energy, and memory continues to get worse.  Go from doctors to consultants, taking tests and trying other treatments, without answers. 20:15 Energy levels and fatigue continue to decline. Getting about 1 day's worth of work completed in every 5. Realized I needed to find a better way of working so that I could get far more out of the time I could put in. 2015: Kept going down the rabbit hole of productivity and high-performance. Read hundreds of books, went to seminars, workshops. Seen certain specific similarities in how the world's best maximize their productivity during their days. 2016: Continued to test new ways to be more productive. Eventually, getting to the point where I was completing 5 days of work in less than 1. Despite my ongoing health issues. 2016: A series of coincidences led to a Lyme Disease diagnosis. Spent 4 weeks getting treatment in a specialist centre in the Czech Republic. 2020: Performance and career continued to grow. But then COVID struck. Had the time and space to start documenting my systems. First, just posting content online. Also, running free masterclasses to help professionals get these same results. 2021: Founded @domorebetter and launched my Digital Program 2022: Lanched my Inner Circle Elite Productivity Coaching Program, designed specially for busy Business Owners 2024: Finalised my new book which is co-authored with world #1 motivational speaker Les Brown . Due for release in the coming months. And that's only the half of it! Junior cert Ireland My son just received his junior cert results and great to see so many other students receiving the same today. Well done to all. However, this great little gold plated country can’t even share results properly to the students who deserve to know exactly what percentage they received for each subject. So we (parents) actually don’t know if a student got 55% or 74% for a merit and the same principle applies to all grades. There is no % percentage grade even though the teachers grading the exam papers must have scored each exam paper with a percentage mark. Where has the mark disappeared to? What was wrong with the old system where it was simple. You received a percentage mark and a grade. No complications. World class country with complicated systems. @normafoley#DOE #DOE

In March 2024, Applied Biopharm Consulting received funding from Local Enterprise Office Cork North and West to conduct a feasibility study to evaluate the engineering of viral capsids and related molecules. This research used artificial intelligence combined with advanced computational tools to develop and validate Applied Dock™ technology. Looking ahead to 2025, our ongoing R&D efforts will focus on experimentally evaluating the integration of novel high-affinity binding motifs targeting a specific muscle receptor. Great news again for Cork as Hovione has officially commissioned an expansion at its manufacturing facility in Ringaskiddy. This new multi-million euro investment almost doubles the capacity of their spray drying facilities in Ireland and will create more than 20 new positions. Dr. Jean-Luc Herbeaux Hovione's chief executive said: “This newly opened facility further strengthens Hovione's position as the global CDMO of choice for spray drying development and manufacturing services."

👏 What a week for Cork! – Eli Lilly unveils new $800m facility This additional investment in Cork is part of the most ambitious manufacturing expansion agenda in the company’s history. Since 2020, Eli Lilly and Company has committed more than $20 billion to build, expand and acquire manufacturing facilities. Thanks to Ibec for organising the IBEC Mid West HR Forum in Limerick yesterday. It was a highly informative event with valuable insights on current HR challenges and legislations. Special thanks to the speakers and panellists; Fiona Higgins Keevagh Heverin Vicky O'Neill Sinead Mullins Liam Linehan. MBA, FCIPD. There were many takeaways from the event, including: 1. Engagement Levels: A recent Gallup Survey highlighted the importance of focusing on engagement improvements within businesses in Ireland. 2. Human Energy Crisis: A Mercer 2023 report indicates an increase in burnout rates, emphasising the need for enhanced wellbeing initiatives and supports. 3. Employee Value Proposition: Employers need to evaluate their benefits: pay, pensions, wellbeing, flexible work options, and actively listen to employee feedback. 4. Untapped Recruitment Markets: Identify and leverage untapped recruitment markets such as people on careers or disability leave. 5. Change: Be agile, adaptive and collaborative. If you strive for perfection other businesses will pass you out.
